Deterministic, embeddable optimization engine for black-box engineering design spaces.
Dependency Graph
Optimization turns engineering judgment loops into automated search. Extropian Optimization is a domain-independent C++ library built around a modular optimizer core and a batch execution protocol (sample_batch/update_batch). It ships five pluggable algorithms — CMA-ES (flagship, active covariance + IPOP restarts), NSGA-II for multi-objective Pareto fronts, deterministic Nelder-Mead and Hooke-Jeeves for low-dimension polish, and differential evolution for coarse global search.
Runs are deterministic by contract: the same seed yields a bit-for-bit identical trajectory regardless of thread count, with candidates generated before evaluation and consumed in index order. A thread pool handles parallel batch evaluation, while an embedded stepper mode hands control to hosts that own their evaluation pipeline — such as a simulator's frame-batched solver pools — with bit-identical results to one-shot runs.
Problems are expressed via a [0,1]^d design space mapped to engineering units (continuous, integer, categorical), with adaptive penalty and constrained domination for constraints, budgets/plateau/wall-clock stopping, JSON-defined problems for runtime configuration, and result history including multi-objective Pareto archives.

Licensing is negotiated around the software, deployment model, scope, and ownership requirements of each project — whether Extropian Optimization is used as-is, customized for your workflows, or embedded in a larger system you are building. I prefer perpetual licenses per major version: one fee licenses the version you chose for as long as you use it, with maintenance updates included within that major version.
Source Available (PolyForm Shield): view and build from the source under terms that prevent offering it as a competing product or service — no license fees or royalties.
Binary Distribution (Proprietary): one-time license to use and distribute the software in binary form, including inside products you sell.
Internal Use (Proprietary): one-time license for ongoing internal use of the software as delivered — no distribution, no recurring fees.
